The Lamb Wins
If you were going to pick which animal would win a fight, you would probably never say a lamb. Yet that's exactly what the book of Revelation promises us. But this is no ordinary lamb of course, it's the Lamb of God, that takes away the sins of the world.
The beast that it overcomes is not ordinary either. John writes that it has seven heads and 10 horns, and that it is full of abominations. You wouldn't think anything could overcome that, but the lamb does. But this Lamb does not win by might or power, but by laying down its life.
Maybe you're facing something that seems like it cannot be overcome. Sickness, sin, sorrow, everything else that seems to overwhelm your heart and mind. The book of Revelation remind us that no matter how great a terror we are facing, the lamb of God is greater. He is greater because he is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He does not require us to fight, but to be faithful.
The Lamb is greater than whatever you see in front of you today. It may not seem that way right now, the darkness or hardship might seem too much. Your battle might be just starting, or it might seem like it has been going on forever. Either way, Revelation reminds us of one simple fact: the Lamb wins.
