As the storm clouds rolled in last night, the sun kept trying to find a way to make it through. The rays of sunlight found away through the clouds, reminding us that light always finds a way.
In the midst of difficult times, it can be easy to forget that the sun is still up there, beyond our view. But if we take the time to stop and look, we can see the rays of grace piercing through the dark clouds everywhere. A conversation with a good friend, a warm meal, a prayer given on our behalf, a note in the mail, all of these are the rays of grace that make their way into our lives in the hardest moments.
More than that, those rays remind us that the storm clouds are always temporary. When the storms come in our life, it’s easy to feel like they will never leave. But the love of God never falters or changes, even when we can’t feel it or see it. Praise God for these moments that remind us of the overwhelming love of God that is greater than anything we face.
You might know someone who is in the midst of clouds today, or you might be yourself. Take a minute to stop and look for the raise of God’s grace in your life. Or if you know someone having a hard time, be one of those spots of sun in the middle of a storm for them. Offer them kindness, mercy, and compassion, and help them remember it’s only temporary. The sun always finds a way through.
